Sixteen years ago, the Chippewa Valley Fund Raising Professionals (CVFRP) began what has become an annual tradition: an event to celebrate the many ways philanthropy enhances the quality of life in the Chippewa Valley. We Invite you to join us to recognize the 2010 honorees and help keep the spirit of giving alive. Dear CVFRP Supporter,

I am writing to you in hope that you can help us honor the outstanding philanthropists in our region that make this a great place to live.
 
Chippewa Valley Fund Raising Professionals is seeking nominations for the 2010 Outstanding Philanthropist and Outstanding Youth Philanthropist Awards. Award winners will be honored as part of the region’s annual Philanthropy Day celebration on November 12, 2010 at the Florian Gardens. Nominations are currently being sought and nomination forms are attached.
 
Since 1999, the Chippewa Valley Fund Raising Professionals (CVFRP) has annually recognized those who exemplify what it means to be a philanthropist. Nominees for the Outstanding Philanthropist Award are evaluated based on direct gift support, support of a wide variety of non-profits, the impact of their philanthropy, in addition to their leadership and innovation approaches to the problem solving they impact through their giving. Honorees impact the Chippewa, Dunn and/or Eau Claire counties.
 
Past honorees include – Carol and Dennis Heyde, Gerald and Emma Talen, Owen and Janice Ayres, David and Kathleen Barnard, The Mason Family, Dick and Marlene Cable, The Kell Family, Gerald and Mary Jacobson, Jake and Peggy Leinenkugel, Dick and Marcia Larson and B.J. and Bea Farmer. 2007 was the first year the Youth Philanthropist Award was given, and it has been awarded to Eau Claire Memorial High School Key Club, the Altoona Middle School Student Council and Ted Marris, Eagle Scout and Colfax High School student.
 
Completed nomination forms are due August 6, 2010.

ELIGIBILITY, CRITERIA & PAST HONOREES

 
Eligibility – Anyone living in Chippewa, Dunn or Eau Claire Counties at least part of the year.
 
Criteria - CVFRP Steering Committee will use the following criteria to fairly evaluate all nominations. Greatest weight in considering nominations will be given to the first three items listed. Your nomination should specifically address each of the following:
 
►        Evidence of direct gift support.
 
►        Description of participation in and gift support of a variety of not-for-profit organizations in the
                        community, region, nation, and/or beyond.
 
►        Description of impact of gift support to specific cause(s) or project(s) over a period of time.
 
►        Evidence of encouragement and motivation given to others to take an active role in philanthropy.
 
►        Evidence of philanthropic support of innovative approaches to solving problems.
